The Education & Library Department supports primary education delivery, promotes literacy and lifelong learning, provides library services, and collaborates with state agencies, schools, and communities to ensure access to quality educational opportunities across Lagos Island.

Our Mandate

To support and strengthen primary education delivery, promote literacy and lifelong learning, provide library and information services, and collaborate with state agencies, schools, and communities to ensure that every resident of Lagos Island has access to quality educational opportunities — in alignment with the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and the Universal Basic Education Act.

1. Support to Schools and Learning Centres
