Today, we witnessed an unfortunate fire incident at Afriland Towers on Broad Street which affected lives and property.
Immediately, my team and I proceeded to the site to assess the situation and offer necessary support.
According to an eye witness, the electrical inverter installed in the Highrise building exploded following restoration of electricity and led to a fire outbreak.
Emergency response personnel are presently on the ground to rescue and provide first aid medical treatment for the victims
We also visited the hospital where some of the casualties were taken to ensure they are receiving proper care.
