Olusi Holds Y2025 Budget Retreat Tagged: “Local Government Autonomy: Benefits, Expectations And Implementation” At The Eastgate Hotel & Suites, Chevron, Lekki, Lagos State From 11th To 13th December 2024.
The Lagos Island Local Government, under the visionary leadership of Prince Adetoyese Tijani Olusi, recently hosted the Fanty Unity Carnival for this festive December 2024. The event was graced by the presence and support of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Executive Chairman, Lagos Island Local Government , Hon. Prince Adeoteyes Tijani Olusi in his opening remarks expressed his gratitude to Almighty God for making him witness his final Retreat as the Executive Chairman of the Council.
While declaring the Retreat open, The Council Boss emphasizes on the fact that Budget Retreat is an essential activity done as a follow-up to work on the noted demands of the people during the budget Stakeholders Meeting which was held earlier.
OLUSI used the medium to also appreciate all Stakeholders i.e Executive Members, Legislators, Management, the entire Staff and the good people of Lagos Island Local Government for their cooperation since the Administration began in 2021 while soliciting the continuity of the support till the end of the Last phase of the administration.
In her Welcome address, The Head of Department, Budget and Planning, Mrs. Avoseh-Senami Oluwakemi said the essence of the budget retreat is to critically examine the financial status of the local government, improve on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and utilize the allocation from the federal and state governments in bringing new innovations to the local government attesting to the Progressive nature of the Chairman, she solicited for all round support especially in the area of Internally Generated revenue.
The Council Manager, Alhaja Yesirat Abdulkareem commended the Council Chairman for his leadership style and for creating an enabling atmosphere for all and for always putting the interest of the people at heart.
She also implored all stakeholders to bring in propositions which could assist the Council generate more in the area of IGR in order to efficiently and effectively serve the people as she hoped the Year 2025 Budget which will perform optimally.
The retreat will give all departments, units, revenue officers and other participants the ample opportunity to make inputs and contributions with the aim of positioning the council success.
